Our inspiration and motto in Sanskrit translate to “Propagating right education in the world is the moral work for all”.
Gurukul (गुरुकुल) is an ancient Sanskrit term which referrers to the education system, where students live with their Gurus and get their moral, social and skills education. The name derives from the Sanskrit guru, meaning “teacher,” and kul, meaning “domain.” It translates as “domain or family of the guru.”
Swaminarayan Gurukul Canada is an adapted version of this sacred tradition where the followers and members follow the Swaminarayan sect and teachings preached by Lord Swaminarayan in various different holy scriptures or Shashtras. Shikshapatri, which covers the essence of all the ancient Hindu scriptures, was written, preached and proliferated by Lord Shri Swaminarayan
The goal of the organization is spreading Sadvidya or ‘True moral education’ propagated by Lord Swaminarayan. The organization aims to absorb and spread the essence of Indian traditional legacy in Canada through our regular Satsang (Holy assembly), religious festival celebrations and Kids morale development activities.
Sadguru Shastriji Maharaj Shri Dharmajivandasji Swami founded the Gurukul Tradition for the first time ever in 1948 A.D. and current Guru, Mahant Swami Shree Devkrishnadasji Swami, Gurukul has earned a dignity and exceptional place in the hearts of millions all over the world with the exemplary conduct and leadership.
What do we do ?
The Swaminarayan Gurukul Canada organizes regular religious assemblies, youth assemblies, kids’ development activities in line with the teachings of Swaminarayan sect.
We focus on the human values, moral etiquette, an appreciation and love of divine Mother Nature and an understanding of the power of prayer and so forth.
